Gordon is doing just fine, and thank you all for asking.
I mentioned in worship that my little guy has been sick. He’d been dealing with some “bathroom” issues (yuck) and I spent a lot of last week at the vet. He looked to be getting worse on Sunday morning, so I appreciate you all being so compassionate. I am lucky to have such a supportive community. The latest news is that he’s doing just fine. He’s on anti-biotics and stress meds and is getting back to his old self, albeit a little better behaved when he’s got his chill pills in him.
I tend not to share too much personal information in my blogs, given that these things will last long past my days of walking this earth (Hi people in the future!). That being said, I was worried and distracted last week. I didn’t know what was going on and all I wanted was for Gordon to be okay.
I was not the only person going through this last week, and I feel so bad for the families at the emergency vet clinic who left without their pets coming with them. My stressors and problems are not nearly as large as theirs, though it doesn’t make mine any less real. Everyone is carrying something. That’s easy to forget when we’re so wrapped up in our own selves. It’s really easy to ignore someone else’s reality because our reality is Just. So. Present.
Our struggles are real and loom large in our lives. This is true of everyone. When we all spend our time focused only on our own trials, we lose sight of the fact that we are not alone in what we do.
So that being said, thank you for your well-wishes for my goofy little cat. I look forward to seeing you and hearing about your life. You may not have a sick cat, but you’re carrying something and I don’t want to forget that fact.
Peace,
Jeff
